Important information about gtaonline on the Cayo Perico DLC release day.

On December 15th we will be locking the sub, and all posts will have to be manually approved by the moderators. The reason is to control the flood of posts regarding the new DLC.
We will have a new Megathread up that morning for posts regarding the DLC, and most posts regarding the new DLC will be removed and directed to the Megathread.
The Megathread will be regularly updated throughout the morning of the DLC release with links to official information, and any important info on the DLC that comes out, like when the update is live for each platform, the payouts, vehicles, costs, etc... and may have a sticky post dedicated solely to the cost of the new vehicles, properties, etc...
Expect the lock-down of the sub to happen around, or slightly before, 5AM EST on the 15th.
We expect there to be hundreds of posts or more per hour that morning, so it may take the mods a bit of time to go through and approve posts that aren't DLC related, so we ask for some patience that day.

• Calls such as those from LJT have been reduced to messages. Bryony continues to annoy the fuck out of us, though.
• An additional two garage slots has have been added as well, so yay!
• Christ - They added a timer to the Lucky Wheel! Anytime you get near it seems you will see how much time you have left to wait until you can spin it again.
• Looks like it's now possible to return ANY personal vehicle back to storage. Rockstar is killing it!
• The colors in the MCT for MC businesses regarding stock and supplies have been fixed, so good luck getting used to that change now!
• The MkII's 5 minute cooldown is now applied to the regular mechanic as well.
• Vehicles with missiles show a counter with how many missiles are left if their capacity is limited.
• Staying stationary or going in the wrong direction in Open Wheel Races makes you non-contact.
• Snacks can be bought from Wendy and the interaction menu!!!
• Unconfirmed: The Casino Heist Gold Glitch seems to have been patched.
• During Open Wheel races you are now able to change your tire compound (soft/medium/hard) when stationary in the pits by pressing right on the D-Pad or right-arrow key on PC. (Credits Final-Atonement)

FAQ

When will the DLC drop?
Soon. Rockstar usually pushes updates around 3:30AM EST or 9:30AM UTC. Check this helpful map showing all the timezones.
Does the DLC cost money, how can I get the DLC?
The DLC will be made automatically available through whatever launchestore you have the game on. Those using the Rockstar Launcher can expect to see their games updated first, so be ready for that.
What can we expect?
Judging by Rockstar's announcements and timelines, this DLC won't be massive. They've confirmed new business battles and yacht missions, probably comparable to the previous client jobs we've gotten with the Terrorbyte.
Additionally they've teased some cars, of which we've gotten images of a new supercar, a musclecar and an F-1 car. Some new race modes have been mentioned as well. It's safe to assume that the content will be dripfed in stages, especially the more interesting items might be left for later.
Have the Acura NSX and new Toyota Supra been added?
Some images of the Toyota Supra and Acura NSX being converted at Benny's have been floating around - these are fake and have been put into circulation by a clickbaity asshole who shall not be named.
Are weekly updates on Tuesdays starting now?
Probably not. Rockstar always goes a little off their usual schedule with DLC drops and this is probably the same thing. It's hard to say if the sales will already change this Thursday, but I'd recommend y'all reek the benefits of the sales before you regret it.

TL;DR - Rockstar now acknowledges an issue with Xbox One GTA V Online Nightclub Popularity. But will they do something about it? Who knows!?
Hello everyone,
I am pleased to inform the community of some progress regarding the bugged nightclub popularity.
For those not yet in the know, anyone playing GTA Online via Xbox One might realise that their Nightclub Popularity bar doesn't increase - and even if it does, it's only increasing a tiny bit per mission and decreasing entirely within an hour or two while we go off and do other things.
On Sunday 19th 2018 I contacted Rockstar Support via Online Chat.

Hi there, I'm doing nightclub promotion 'Promote Club' missions but my nightclub popularity isn't going up at all. It's still 0/5 bars instead of 5/5. The only times it's ever been 5/5 is when I get a brand new DJ in. I think the 'Promote Club' isn't working properly?

This was a tedious chat indeed, because it involved doing the standard troubleshooting steps before getting to the 'meat and potatoes' of the complaint. I was asked to unplug the Xbox for ten minutes, turn on, play story mode for five minutes THEN log in, then swap character to a NEW character for five minutes, then swap back and go online with the main character and check on the nightclub statistics. I was then asked to play Nightclub Popularity missions while taking screenshots before and after (I even did the 'Record this' Xbox function, just to make sure I wasn't faking the complaint).

Agent: [8/19/18 7:48:28 PM] I understand that you have not seen the increment with the recent popularity mission. Try to complete atleast two or three missions and check back the status. Send me the screenshots of promotional statistics for every mission.

Then, after doing all that was asked and collecting all that irrefutable evidence that my missions were pointless, I was hit with heartbreak.

It is gameplay intended. please be informed that the popularity bar will decrease 10% per game day (every 48 minutes ). After the upgrade this will decrease 5% per game day (every 48 minutes) . This promotion mission is designed in a way that for every popularity mission there is no guarantee to reach 100% level. It depends on the type of missions. Please try to understand that, if the bar is not at all increasing, I can do something from my end like escalating to my concerned department like that....However, in this case, the bar has been increased from 1.5 to 2. Seems it is working as intended.

The chat representative told me that because the popularity had increased to 2 out of 5 bars after 9 missions total... but then went back to 1.5/5 bars... this was fully intended by the game designers at Rockstar.
I was furious, livid and disenchanted because I had worked out that to get 5/5 popularity, it would require 16 hours of hardcore exclusive gaming to achieve, all for GTA$ 10k per day. If this is the case, just what is the point of a nightclub besides what's going on in the basement? Why all that fuss with the DJs and pretty lights and special missions collecting the DJs in the first place? We want to go off and do other things, variety being the spice of life, but instead we're being told to stay put in a Nightclub for the rest of our days online!?
To do this would make the Nightclub stuff pointless, wasteful and could be seen as a great big 'finger' from Rockstar to the player community. Then again, we all know that Rockstar KNOW how to troll with the best of them... maybe that was the point? If it was, I cannot be bothered buying RDR2 just to go through all that hype and buyers' remorse again.
But I wasn't done yet. I employed the old customer service skills of my own and requested an "escalation of complaint." To be clear, any business in the world can do any combination of the following:

• Repair
• Refund
• Escalate

Bare in mind, I had to ask to speak to a supervisor FIVE times before the chat representative acquiesced - but not without the usual warning of 'the supervisor will say the same thing as me.' Bahaha. Wrong!
Eventually, the chat representative told me that there were no supervisors available as they were all busy with other chat users. I said, "Fine, a phone call from head office will be fine, if nobody else is available, please." This passes the buck straight from front line services to the back offices in any company. Next time you need to do battle with front line customer support, try it yourself. It works a treat.
The representative then said, "Alright, Sir, I've sent an email to your registered address to confirm today the request for a phone call." I looked, but there were no actual details in the email with any specific time or date of the phone call appointment. I merely replied, "I have received an email." I then requested an ETA for the phone call. I got the following message:

Agent: [8/19/18 9:54:11 PM] Since we're from chat support, we do not have an complete and accurate information. However, I can tell you that, I've escalated to my call back department.

Soon after that, the chat ended. Please note, that entire chat started 5:17 PM 19th August 2018 and finished 9:56 PM.

About twenty four hours later, I finally get the phone call all the way from USA to the UK! Impressive! What's even more impressive is that the Customer Service Supervisor thoroughly disagreed with the chat representative, refunded my GTA dollars to the tune of 4.3 million - and backed up his statement with an email to me afterwards.
This act within itself sets precedence. Rockstar HAVE recognised that the Nightclub Popularity IS broken for Xbox One. With this precedence set, it SHOULD also mean Rockstar WILL fix it. Well, I hope they do anyway. It seems to be working for PS4 and PC, to the best of my knowledge anyway!

Folks, let's keep up the pressure on Rockstar to fix this. We all know that the Nightclub 'DLC' was very heavily advertised and marketed to the global community via social media as well as the startup loading screens - among many other methods. It's on them to get it right.

I quote Rockstar Support: "As we discussed, we deeply apologize that you have run into an issue with not being able to see your newly purchased Nightclub's popularity increase through the available missions in GTA Online. I understand your concerns about this and I have credited your account with GTA$4,300,000 for the inconvenience of seeing this problem occur. You should see the adjustments the next time you log into GTA Online. Please remember, that if you are plan on trading in the property for another. You would have to sell all currently accrued product in your Nightclub Warehouse before doing so. Although, you can feel more than free to spend the GTA$ in-game as you see fit."

For those who are wondering, I spent my 4.3m on business upgrades. If I cannot rely on nightclubs to work properly, I'll raise money the old fashioned way! Perhaps it's time to bring back proper Crews again?
If you're unsure, the way we can do this is by doing your own customer service chats... but be prepared. They WILL ask you to 'turn it off and on again' and try another character to 'synchronise data properly.' They WILL ask for screenshots of before and after missions and demand all this as evidence that there is indeed something wrong on their end rather than user end.
Every time any business admits something is wrong in their service and/or product, it means they may need to keep paying out refund money and compensation for something they've got wrong. This could ruin the game which could then put their reputation in doubt and affect future sales. To state the obvious, the idea of achieving outstanding reputation gives Rockstar some motivation to get in there, rewind and improve stuff they've not got quite right - ifthey do indeed value their customers and player community. I've been told they do and I certainly hope that is the case.
Apologies. I think I let a keyboard warrior fly through the window. Nevertheless, it's something to think about. The good news is that now Rockstar knows there's a problem with the nightclub release, they can do something about it and learn for next time. Who knows? Maybe we'll get to open some bourgeois restaurants, hotdog and fruit stands, hotels and casinos next?
