An ought era gay porn forum merges all scat posts into a containment thread, leading to a foul discussion of the nuanced differences between the musky butthole sniffing fetish, the dirty butthole sniffing fetish, watching guys take a dump, and true and blue scat fetishism.

Readers beware. The summarized drama is filled with graphic descriptions of men's buttholes and feces, and the linked drama has images. Such is the untold chaos that exists at the end of the manscent fetish and the beginning of scat.
https://www.justusboys.com/forum/threads/124255-MERGED-All-things-Scat
So where to even fucking begin? I don't know, and any text I so dare to think might capture its essence is a deluded simplification of the pure shit chaos that is this thread. There is no beginning. There is no end. There are merely farts, shit, skid marks, manly smelling buttholes, and the unknowable erotic distinction between them.
I suppose it all starts with the JustUsBoys.com, The Original Gay Porn Community, and its mod team, coming to the touching realization they need to do something about scat posts. Their solution, apparently, was to merge all scat threads into one giant megathread / containment zone. This, however, did not bode well for the musky butthole sniffers, who are absolutely NOT INTO SCAT.
Observe the visable discomfort of Musky Butthole connoisseur saymyname, when confronted with his new scat acquaintances.

Yup, sex and shit go together!
saymyname said
Totally disagree. I draw the line between sweat/musk/funk and outright shit.
newbie_69 said
try drawing (the line between) vanilla n kinky too ;)
saymyname said
This thread isn't about scat. That doesn't make this thread vanilla. What the majority of people in here are talking about is still kinky. But you scat people can make your own thread.
shitstaine69 said
ok but if not for the scat the smell would be too bland shit and sweat mix and air the the smell we want
saymyname had no response to this and I truly feel lost without him.
Fortunately, PocketAdonis is there with saymyname, but jessicahurley20 has a different opinion:

I love smelling a guy's butt when it's not exactly chlorox-clean, but not visibly dirty - just that nice masculine butt smell. But I've cum across some pix online of guys with dirty buttholes, and it's a big turn on. I (probably) wouldn't lick these guys' butts, but I like looking at them. William Higgins especially seems to get a lot of these backwoods Czech boys who are too dumb to wipe before spreading their butt cheeks for the camera. I have quite a collection now, wondering if anybody else likes these:
saymyname said
Hmm. I agree with Pocket Adonis' last post. Visually, the pics kind of gross me out. If I can actually SEE something, like in the pics, that's taking it a bit too far. But I like it when I'm rimming a guy and I can smell his natural smells. As long as it wasn't 5 minutes ago... I like it somewhere inbetween funky and clean. If it's too clean, the act of rimming or even being around there feels sterile and censored. I don't want to see shit like in those pics, but I like it when I can smell a little muskyness. That's really hot. I love just smelling a guys asshole through his briefs too.
jessicahurley20 said
this nasty
paulstud interjects with an olive branch. Scat and dirty buttholes are gross and he never wants to see it or interact with it, but watching a guy poop is hot.
paulstud said
I agree, Tyler, about the eating, licking, smearing, etc. That's the trouble with those sites. Just watching guys on the toilet is different -- and hot.
RationalLunacy, the oldest Pokemon Go player in Pennsylvania, whose name is pronounced as DUMP T'RUMP, wishes to inform you all:
Now this is a poop thread!
And finally, GoldenShowerGuy teaches us that India's caste system is absolutely fucked up.
GoldenShowerGuy said
On the subject of scat & pissing, the gym in my high school was in the basement and the water from restroom and showers drained into a deep sump that was automatically pumped out when the water got about 3 feet deep.
One time, I stripped naked and climbed down in the pool. It was pretty hot sitting chin deep in all that filthy water with a few turds floating around. BTW, freshly dropped turds in water don't stink like sewage and there was a hose to rinse off all the crud after I climbed out.
Interestingly, in India, they have a lot of naked waste water divers who work in filth. Go to YouTubeDotCom and search for "Probably the dirtiest job in the world". The second or third result shows a couple of Indian guys working butt naked cleaning out cesspool and the photo in this post is another one from India.
It's pretty hazardous to actually do something like that, but this video is a turn on.
The full thread has more diamonds in the rough, but fuck and I mean holy fuck is it rough.

I automate sending birthday and festival wishes to my friends by running a bash script in cronjob.

Every year I forget my friend's Birthdays. Not just one friend all my friends. Since I don't use any social media it's really hard for me to remember my friends birthdays.
I have no facebook to notify me about my friends birthday. Also no whatsapp so I can see status of my friends putting party pictures or others birthday wishes.
I never wish people on festivals too and we have so many festivals here in India.
But then I got this idea -
I also have a Video explanation or you can read text.
Script - https://pastebin.com/HZrUYynw

Step 1 -

First my college group is on telegram so almost all my friends use telegram. So by using Telethon library I create a simple tgsend python script to send messages on telegram from my account by using terminal.
You need to get your telegram API ID and API HASH from telegram website but it's really easy. Not like Google API.
tgsend username "Sending Happy Birthday using Username" tgsend +00123456789 "Sending Happy Birthday using Phone number"

Step 2 -

After this I created a csv file which contain my friends - name, contact number, birthday. My list is huge because I included almost everyone I know - old friends, new friends, all classmates, people I see daily.
File is something like this -
$ cat contacts.csv Jimmy, +1234567890, 02-May Emma watson, +1231231234, 09-Jan Hannah Montana, +1233123123, 21-Sep ...

Step 3 -

We can use simple grep magic to know who is having birthday today.
grep $(date '+%d-%B') contacts.csv
Here by using date command we can print today's date in exact format we have in contact.csv
Now to get more information we can use Simple cut command.
For example -
name=$(grep $(date '+%d-%B') contacts.csv | cut -d, -f1) # for name phone=$(grep $(date '+%d-%B') contacts.csv | cut -d, -f2) # for contact number
We can also use awk '{print $1}' to just get first name.

Step 4 -

Now we Generate message. I am generating a very simple happy birthday message.
msg="Haaappppy Birthday ${name} .. Many Many happy returns of the day."
But you guys can go creative and make list of variety of messages and use shuf to get a random message string. Also It's good if you add name in your messages.
In last
tgsend $phone "$msg"

Step 5 -

Create a cronjob at random time in mid night .. don't set this to exact 00:00 (24 hours format) otherwise this will look fishy. Also run this on your VPS server or somewhere online. like PythonAnywhere. You can also create a log file for yourself. If you want.

Conclusion -

This idea was very simple but it changed my life. Now I wish all my friends on their birthday automatically and when they reply Thank you. At that time I realize ohh.. She is having birthday today and this way I don't have to worry about forgetting birthdays.
Also I use this to wish people on festivals .. Now I am just doing it with telegram but you guys can find some whatsapp libraries written in javascript. I know there are some. Also There is a way of sending messages from phone numbers too.
I will highly recommend doing this .. You can save so much time of sending these stupid messages to people you don't really care about.
I know this is Autism at its peak. But I am happy like this.

NEW Khabib Press Conference (12/2/2020) - English Translation

EDIT: RT released a subbed version of the full interview.

Khabib did a press conference where he answered questions about going 30-0, Tony fight, Conor rematch, his meeting with Dana, his recent acquisition of the Eagle Fighting Championship, etc.
Below is a summarized account.

About EFC
- Khabib bought and renamed GFC promotion to EFC
- Majority owner and wants to become 100% owner
- Got TV deal with Match TV (the BT Sport of Russia) and sponsorship deals including Kazakhstan and UAE TV.
- Got big plans and wants to make promotion one of the best in the world
- Gonna make investment on new generation and young fighters
- Difference between GFC and EFC is when it comes to fighter's contracts
- Khabib gonna be involved in recruitment and scouting of talent
- Will not compete vs MMA Global. MMA Global is for US market. EFC doesn't have plans for US market. Also MMA Global, gonna be streaming online.
- GFC champions gonna automatically become Champs in new league, only new belt design
- Before in GFC, best didn't fight the best. Khabib will strip people who refuse to defend the belt. Gonna make it fair. Gonna give people who deserve the title shot.
- Khabib not gonna treat people different depending on favoritism
- EFC have no goal to make money at the moment. Goal for now is not to lose money.
- Plans to expand to India, Middle East and former USSR countries in future.

About Dana White talks
- Want to make a contract between UFC-fightpass and EFC
- Wanted to make M-1 type of deal to get best fighters to UFC. But will make a deal so that fighters must have a certain number of defenses before coming over to UFC.
- Also want to make a deal that EFC are going to manage the fighter in UFC instead of agent
- Don't want to compete with UFC, but to cooperate and manage fighters who succeed in UFC
- Khabib hasn't met Dana yet. Gonna meet Dana 23 January when Umar and Tagir will fight.
- He will probably offer money. Can't offer good opponent, no one left to fight.
- Conor vs Poirier? I choked both, so what?
- It's only about money, it doesn't interest him from competitive standpoint.
- There's an Avar saying, that the stallion does not compete against donkeys.
- If they offer me a 100 million, then I'll have a problem in front of me (smirk)
- No sporting interest in that fight.
- Several of my guys gonna fight in that tournament, potentially Khabib can meet Conor there. But Khabib says that whatever happens happens.

Middle-East Plans
- Gonna open Khabib gym
- Gonna be pro gym and raise pro fighters but also commercial project
- Gonna be a big project one of the main centers for Khabib's gyms.
- Gonna have gyms in Abu-Dhabi, Dubai, Malaysia, Indonesia, former CIS. Khabib gonna visit and have masterclasses.
- Gonna co-promote with UAE warriors promotion and EFC- First tournament fight card on January 16th.

About title - why Khabib doesn't let go of the title - Can he return?
- Let me enjoy the belt, why you want to strip me? (joking)
- Thinks Dana will strip him after they speak in January.
- Khabib doesn't have plan to return, wants to focus on more serious business.
- Thinks when you say you quit, then you quit. But never say never, you can reevaluate these thing later.- Very few people knew about my retirement.
- Except for money, big challenge might make me return. I still want to fight, when I visit tournaments I get urge to fight.
- Khabib keeps training just like before. Staying in shape. Doing to relieve stress and because he enjoys it. After Gaethje fight didn't train for 2 days.
- USADA will keep testing Khabib for 6 months after Gaethje fight.
About Makhachev- Makhachev just need to be active and fight.- Needs to not think about title, but just stay active and take fights now.
About Tony Ferguson- If Tony wins, we'll see.- Let him win first, his last fight he was destroyed by Gaethje- I lost interest after Gaethje fight.- Let him win first.

LW main title contender except Islam
- Poirier, lost to me, but had good performance before me and after me. He has a little higher chance than everyone else.
- Chandler left best years in Bellator. Many wars and took lot of damage. Got KOd by 145-er 2 fights ago, don't think he has a good future in this division.
About Conor- Doesn't think Conor gonna provoke him, since he has his fight with Poirier to worry about- Thought Conor was gonna be tougher mentally in their fight, but understood he broke him when he said "It's just business".
- It's like a son getting a beating from his father and tries to calm him down with excuses so the father won't beat him so hard.

Full Interview in Russian: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ze-SaTd7RXQ)

My takeaways:
About EFC
Khabib had a very difficult time getting into the UFC, since Russian promos and management companies often make the process untenable. Fedor is a notable case where the UFC couldn't get a deal done. And Khabib himself had to fight 7 times in 2011 just to run out his contract, and even then the promo filed lawsuits to prevent him from going to the UFC.
Khabib wants to set up a reliable pipeline to get Russian fighters into the UFC without dealing with corrupt managers/agents.
Khabib's also still salty about Dana sending him a fake contract for UFC 205, and treating Conor like a favored nephew. Hence his statement about "not going to play favorites".
Also salty about Conor having a UFC Belt for 3 years (1FW+2LW) with zero defenses. Hence his policy of stripping Champs who refuse to defend their belt.
About Khabib
IMO, Khabib is serious about the retirement, and said that he would only fight with his mother's permission. Since it took 3 days for Khabib to convince his mum to be okay with the already booked Gaethje fight, it would take something extraordinary for Khabib to be able to win an argument with his mum. That would either be continuing Father Plan (Ferguson fight) or enough money to bring forth lasting improvements to Dagestan.
Since rematching PoirieMcGregor does nothing for his legacy, it would simply be a money fight for him. Dana would need to offer an outrageous amount, for Khabib to even consider it. He knows Dana hates paying fighters more money, so is fairly certain that Dana will finally accept his retirement after their meeting.
But in the 1% chance that Dana agrees to shell out the cash, Khabib is still training and keeping tiramisu consumption to a moderate level. Also explains why he's still in the USADA pool.
Khabib thinks Tony is no longer elite after the Gaethje fight. So he's waiting to see if Tony still can pull out a vintage Cucuy performance in his next fight. Unlike PoirieMcGregor, Ferguson will actually add to his legacy, so I'm stoked to see what Khabib does if Tony dismantles Oliveira.
Khabib also thinks Poirier is the best LW in a post-Khabib UFC. No idea why he rates Dustin so highly.

I automate sending birthday and festival wishes to my friends by running a bash script as cronjob on my VPS

One day one of my female friend got angry with me and stopped talking to me because I forgot her birthday and she never forget my birthday. So I was feeling very bad.
and this is not the first time. This happen every year. Not just with one friend with all my friends.
This way I am getting out of the group they start forgetting me to inviting in parties etc.

I hate this society .. I don't understand sending meaningless strings on birthdays/festivals while not talking entire year. WHY DO PEOPLE TEXT? Because they ignore real conversation face to face of phone. But I am glad I have my computer to do this for me.
I know this is Autism at its peak. But I am happy like this.

I automate sending birthday and festival wishes to my friends by running a bash script as cronjob on my VPS

I also have a Video explanation or you can read text.
Script - https://pastebin.com/HZrUYynw
One day one of my female friend got angry with me and stopped talking to me because I forgot her birthday and she never forget my birthday. So I was feeling very bad.
and this is not the first time. This happen every year. Not just with one friend with all my friends.
This way I am getting out of the group they start forgetting me to inviting in parties etc.
So all of this made me very sad.
But then I got this idea -

File is something like this -
$ cat contacts.csv Jimmy, +1234567890, 02-May Emma watson, +1231231234, 09-Jan Hannah Montana, +1233123123, 21-Sep ...

Step 3 -

We can use simple grep magic to know who is having birthday today.
grep $(date '+%d-%B') contacts.csv
Here by using date command we can print today's date in exact format we have in contact.csv
Now to get more information we can use Simple cut command.
For example -
name=$(grep $(date '+%d-%B') contacts.csv | cut -d, -f1) # for name phone=$(grep $(date '+%d-%B') contacts.csv | cut -d, -f2) # for contact number

She is having birthday today and then since I wished they invite me in party too.

Rant -

I hate this society .. I don't understand sending meaningless strings on birthdays/festivals while not talking entire year. WHY DO PEOPLE TEXT? Because they ignore real conversation face to face of phone. But I am glad I have my computer to do this for me.
I know this is Autism at its peak. But I am happy like this.

Responding to Farhan Iqbal Part III: On mischaracterization, morality, mentions of culture, converts, and critics

This post is a response to farhaniqbal1 (Farhan Iqbal) Sahib's response comment on a previous post of mine. It's Part 3 of my posts on the topic. You can also read posts for Part 1 and Part 2.
Normally, I would reply inline on that last post, but due to the length of my response, I have elected to place my response as a post on its own. It's also a good opportunity for me to write at more length on some of these topics.

An Imperative to Engagement?

Hello again Farhan Sahib. In your latest reply, you opened with:
Hello again Sohail. First of all, I'm sorry you felt hurt. That was not my intention nor the intention of my friend, Shahrukh Abid. When you say it was done "blatantly" I take issue with that.
Further down, you quoted this from my earlier reply to you:
As for the "lost your cool" bit, I do find that statement and the "you seem angry" statement you made on Reddit highly condescending, in addition to being inaccurate. It's the disappointment I have in you and the integrity with which imams of the Jama'at are now lacking in how they mischaracterize their critics.
I appreciate that you followed up with the statement and gracious apology, which was very kind of you:
It appears I misunderstood you. I'm sorry about that. That was not my intention.
However, do you see how your latest opening repeats the same pattern? You start off with the assumption that I'm "hurt":
First of all, I'm sorry you felt hurt.
Can you point me to where I've expressed being "hurt" by what I am relaying as mischaracterizations? Perhaps you're inferring this because I'm following up on this issue. I actually find it important (useful) to establish a level dialogue before tackling content. Otherwise, we're often not hearing one another.
It seems to me, however, that officials of the Jama'at have some kind of ideological imperative to characterize those who disagree as "hurt", "angry", or "losing their cool". For the record, I'm simply trying to foster an environment of dialogue and exploration for all that doesn't involve straw men or mischaracterizations of each other's work or positions.
While I'm human too, I generally don't take this stuff personally. If anything, as I've relayed, I'm just dismayed because I expected more from trained missionaries of the Jama'at. It is with Ahmadiyya Islamic personalities that I'm generally encouraged regarding the potential for dialogue with ex-Muslims like me, and with ex-Muslims in general. I'd like there to be some viable Islamic apologists left in the eco-system of religious dialogue.
Regardless, I do appreciate you expressing that nonetheless, this wasn't your intention.

Disagreements on Mischaracterization

Regarding:
When you say it was done "blatantly" I take issue with that.
I use the word blatantly because, from my perspective, the mischaracterization is so off the mark. I don't think many sincere, believing Ahmadi Muslims who've carefully read my book from 1998 in full and who watched my 2019 Coming Out video in full would find the synopsis by your colleague of "I hate the culture" as representative of those two pieces of content.
I appreciate that, once again, we're going to have different opinions on this.
Regarding:
If you believe that those people who review your material would find my rebuttals "less compelling", that is your opinion and you are entitled to it.
Yes. As with many points raised in your latest response, I agree that we'll see things differently on many of these topics.
Similarly, as you state:
In terms of opinions, people have appreciated my work greatly and feel that it fully refutes your arguments. It is up to you to disagree with that.
I'm sure there are people who appreciate your work greatly. I do believe we can easily please audiences living in echo chambers—this applies to both of us. The presence of such people on either side of the argument doesn't really adjudicate anything.
Some people who are questioning but who already believe will look to anything to help them retain the comforting belief with which they grew up. Likewise, people can be motivated to agree with that which confirms their doubts or their disbelief.
The real metric of interest for us both is gleaned from those who change positions: in which direction are more of them moving?
Note that it's typically a gradual process, not a single moment where one changes their own beliefs.

On Methodology and Pointing out Mistakes

In regards to my asking for examples where you allege I have made "blatantly inaccurate" statements regarding Prophet Muhammad, Prophet Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, etc., you mentioned that it has "been pointed out to me" before.
In response, I had stated:
Why don't you point out an example of such a "blatantly inaccurate" statement I have made that needed correction? My statements and positions may be counter to what you believe to be true, but are you going to tell me there are objective facts I got wrong and ignored? Most of my criticisms come with citing embarrassing hadith or quotes from your own religious texts.
To which you've responded:
Actually, I won't be doing that because I don't like this form of debating. "You have lied!", "You are a liar" - is not my form of apologetics. I like to have healthy conversations and dialogue. I try not to get emotional (the best I can) and I don't like to find ways to insult people. Where I found problems in your methodology and in some cases "objective facts" that you got wrong in your argumentation, I did point it out in the book.
I am not asking for us to sling "you're a liar" accusations at each other. I don't think you pointing out an example here would do that. I mean, if you claim to do this in your book (point out something I objective got wrong and didn't correct when it was pointed out to me), why not give us one example here where I can address it more directly?
I'm going to make a prediction here about what you have in your book:
This isn't going to be that different than two interlocutors in a debate saying, "My opponent is wrong" about each other's positions.

On Critiquing Theology and The Morality Argument

In an earlier reply, I had stated:
The truth is, I am critiquing the theology using scripture, whether you like the arguments or not. Whether they convince you or not.
I didn't think that would be too controversial for you. Just as you can use arguments about theology and I may, and often do, find them unsatisfactory and not very convincing.
You stated:
I beg to differ. I don't think you understand the scriptures very well.
I don't subscribe to your understanding and interpretation of the scriptures. However, many orthodox Muslims today who are native Arabic speakers would claim you don't understand Islamic scriptures very well either, and that you and the Jama'at are sugar coating Islamic scriptures with mental gymnastics (the 2:1 female to male witness ratio, a tribe of humans called ants, etc.). Alas, we'll all have our critics who think they understand scripture best.
I do believe that by considering the possibility that the Qur'an is human authored, I can make far better sense of the scripture and its self-serving passages than an apologist for Ahmadiyyat who has to jump through hoops of mental gymnastics to claim what people took literally in the early days of Islam is somehow not what Allah "meant" all along.
Regarding the short twitter thread I reminded you of, where I outline a simple response regarding the morality debate, you responded with:
This is the utilitarian argument that Richard Dawkins also makes in his book, The God Delusion. I have responded to this argument multiple times, and more thoroughly, in the book.
It's been a while since I've read The God Delusion, however, I actually believe it's the case which Sam Harris has made as the entire focus of his book, The Moral Landscape, which I find far more compelling than religious morality.
I do look forward to seeing if you've expanded on this in your book as you indicate. Your earlier response video on the topic was, in my estimation, quite simplistic and presented a straw man for where you feel utilitarianism as a foundation, would fail. I'm saving the details of my argument for a response article to your article, but suffice it to say that if you had any meaningful training at Jamia on philosophy, you would have attempted to answer a steel man presentation of non-religious morality instead of the straw man that you did. You wouldn't need for me to take up writing a response article to point out the basic gaps in your case.
Utilitarianism is yes, a great starter foundation. As humans, we layer in other concepts to cover the situations where higher order principles would be violated if we followed a strictly reductionist utilitarian approach in all matters. I'll expand on this in my response article on morality.
In employing divine command theory, your morality informs us, however, that if God tells a believer to kill their child, the believer should be ready to do it. Hey, whatever your deity wants is automatically "justice" because he said so, right? A willingness to follow through with such a murder is a moral act on your moral framework. We only need to look at the story of Abraham to know this is true.
From my perspective, this is the depravity of religious morality. It's not only rooted in mythology and fable, it can be dangerous and arbitrary.

Sharing Your Book, The Folly of Atheism

You mentioned:
A PDF of the book will eventually be available in the not so distant future, Insha Allah. Meanwhile, you can choose to buy a copy on www.BooksonIslam.org. The first 5 people who reach out to me via Redditt (and are ex-Ahmadis) I will arrange for them to receive a free copy out of my personal expense. I don't get paid for any of these books. I write them for free. And would be happy to pay for anyone to read it who is sincerely interested, even to refute it.
I realize you don't get paid with book royalties, but I do understand it's your full time job to work on projects for the Jama'at. I do think most people here understand that this is part of your role as a missionary.
As for your offer, since most non-believers in the Jama'at still interested in apologetics and counter-apologetics are closeted, you're unlikely to be contacted with a shipping address. However, for folks local to Toronto, I've mentioned to our mutual friend that I don't mind being the go-between.
I'm asking people privately who may want a copy to let me know, so that I may be a physical go-between for anyone interested. I'm encouraging everyone else not closeted and who isn't local to Toronto, to reach out to you directly with a mailing address for you to send a physical copy to.
I am also looking to ensure people who ask for a copy are sincere in wanting to give it a full read, since you are graciously offering to provide complimentary copies.
I will always encourage people read both sides of the argument from the source, instead of one side "presenting" the other side of the argument, as is the Jama'at's typical MO.
Now, regarding your book The Folly of Atheism, I do anticipate that when it's available for free on alislam.org you'll get better engagement from former Ahmadi Muslims.

Encouraging People to Read Arguments from the Source

In response to this question of mine:
Tell me, do you even encourage your readers to read my book in full to get the context of my argument, and not just your re-framing of what you think the argument is?
I found your response quite revealing:
As far as I could, I haven't reframed any of your arguments in your book. I have even quoted you directly where I thought necessary. As far as encouraging members to read your book, I will not be doing that. Not because I'm afraid of your arguments. It's because I encourage members to read the books of the Promised Messiah (as) where there is spiritual insight and spiritual upliftment.
You haven't reframed any of my arguments, you say. And where you "thought necessary", you even did me the gracious favour of quoting me directly!
Through simple deduction, we can conclude that there are places where you didn't think it necessary, and so haven't quoted my argument in responding to me. I mean, why even bother, when you can represent my argument so much better than I can? I mean, what could possibly be suspect about that?
This is the difference between you and I, and more broadly, apologetics and counter-apologetics in the Ahmadiyya apologetics scene today.
When you look at my book, even back in 1998 and in my blog articles more recently, you'll see me providing references to my sources; Jama'at as well as non-Jama'at. It's basic writing etiquette. If one wants to be taken seriously, they cite their publicly available sources.
I believe people can make the most informed and honest assessment of the arguments by reading the original work and then the criticism of it.
Contrast this with Jama'at literature that claims to address my work. The material is almost always stingy on references. Conversely, I make an effort to reference every quote and every occurrence of it, and where there's a hyperlink available, I include that too.
You can characterize it as "spiritual insight" for the believing flock, but to me, and I'm sure to others, it seems like a tactic rooted in fear and insecurity: you need people to read your framing of my arguments, lest they read it as I have presented it and not how you want them to see it.
Think about it: by not encouraging your readers to read both our works in full from the source, you're asking readers to trust your subjective and biased take on my content. You're asking them to trust you that you've accurately represented the crux of my argument, and not omitted anything of significance from my argument.
I, on the other hand, would never ask readers of my material to be so credulous. I want them to verify, and hold up the original presentations side by side in full, to decide for themselves.
I have never suggested you censored or forbid anyone from consuming my material or talking to me, but then you continue with this straw man:
Having said that, if anyone wants to read your book or your online posts, I have never stopped them. I have never actively censored any Ahmadi from reaching out to you. One of my close friends is in touch with you and you can ask him: Have I ever asked him to stop contacting you?
I've never argued that you've "stopped" people or "actively censored" them from reading my work or reaching out to me.
The point I'm making is that in the spirit of fairness and objectivity, the right thing to do is to have confidence enough in your work to openly encourage people to read both sides from their respective sources, and in full. This, however, is what you're apparently unwilling or unable to do.
Further, having one of your friends who is secure in their faith reach out to me as a friendly gesture is not something I'd consider as you being vulnerable with your flock, as seems to be the connotation with which your example is framed.
I think at a human level, we must all stay connected socially and on friendly terms with those with whom we will often disagree, as regards religion.
Our friends and family are shared. We can maintain a decency and dignity in our interactions and relationships, despite our spirited theological differences. We (the broader we) have too many shared life events to be a part of—births, marriages, funerals, and the like—to be cut off from one another over religion.
I do hope that it's a given with you, as it is for me, that asking people to refrain from staying connected or reaching out to people like either of us, is a manoeuvre that both of us would completely take off the table. It should go without saying that social censorship of that sort would just sour the waters for everyone.

On Culture

Regarding culture, I actually agree with you here:
In some cases, religion and culture are different. In other cases, they are aligned. There is nuance.
I often hear the religious attempt to defend their religion separating the two, and that's why I asked the rhetorical question. As you'll recall in my book from 1998, I posit that some religions like Islam can and do strongly influence culture.
I had remarked:
At the end of my book I comment on the Jama'at and community, but it doesn't make one hate the culture. It conveys the deep seated problems created by the religion, which result in the unfortunate pain, grief, and disillusionment for many.
Now this next statement of yours in response, I did find really grasping to try to defend your colleague's essentialization of my work as, "I hate the culture":
So you do admit that you critiqued the culture. Right Sohail sahib?
Actually, I critique the culture in my book far less than it seems you do in your new book (i.e. how much you reference culture), judging by your introductory podcast listing out the topics covered and the motivations for writing.
I have 11 issues I raise in my book:
I'd say the last three deal with aspects of culture, but even then, they are primarily rooted in administrative policies of the Jama'at which themselves are rooted in theology, as covered in many of the earlier chapters.
In Issue 8, I explore the rights and role of women contrasting Jama'at literature with that written by academics like Professor Leila Ahmed.
I don't deny that I cover aspects of the Jama'at's culture in my book and even less so in my coming out video. What I take issue with is Shahrukh Rizwan Abid's essentialization of this as, "I hate the culture".

Turning the Tide and a Tajneed Challenge for You

What will be interesting to observe are those who are no longer Muslims buying into the arguments for Islam/Ahmadiyyat, as well as how many people born into Ahmadiyyat move away from it, whether officially or as "ghost" tajneed members fading out of Jama'at (rather than formally resigning, since few people do given the social repercussions).
Regarding my statement that people are increasingly moving away from Ahmadiyyat and Islam generally, you remarked:
You have tried to inflate your numbers in the past, and here you are doing it again. There is no evidence of this whatsoever.
I don't think you realized the irony in that statement when you wrote it. You represent the Jama'at that once claimed 200 million adherents worldwide including one year alone in which 40 millions converts allegedly joined from India!
In the countries where you have individualized tajneed records, and if you shared the tally of all of these, regardless of whether they pay chanda or not, or are man, woman, or child, I seriously doubt that your worldwide number would even cross the 2 million mark. And this is after 100+ years of the movement existing; with high birth rates for most of this period too.
It's really rich hearing you talking about an "inflation of numbers". Tell me, have you ever written or talked about the fiasco and scandal of the ridiculous ba'ait numbers published and enthusiastically announced by your fourth khalifa?
Now, as for my claims, can you point me to a statement where I quantitatively "inflate" the numbers of people leaving Islam generally or Ahmadiyyat specifically? Perhaps you make an attempt to address that point head on in your book?
It's obvious from the sermons given by mainstream Islamic preachers today that Muslim youth in the West are leaving Islam in significant numbers.
Given the many reasons Muslims including Ahmadis are less likely to make leaving official with a resignation letter sent to their National Amir, I'm unfortunately not going to have statistics for you on Ahmadi Muslims who no longer believe.
I can, however, extrapolate from gauging the decline in religiosity of people I've known in the Community for over 30 years. This includes some people who were once in very senior roles. The amount of questioning is proportionately far higher than what I saw around me when I was a teenager. And it's not just me. I'm privy to these stories from all over the world, well beyond this subreddit. And those people relay the same thing taking place in their circles.
Given that you're speaking from the Jama'at that once boasted 200 million adherents and was too embarrassed to ever issue a formal public correction because it would shake the faith of many of your members, I do think your assessments are going to lack credibility here. But there's hope yet. You can address how the Jama'at is thriving by providing non-birth tajneed growth in countries that maintain computerized membership lists. I'll let you start with Canada, the US, and the UK to get the ball rolling.
You can make it happen, Farhan Sahib! Release the numbers!
Certainly, we'll see the religious continue to have children outpacing the replacement rate, and with ambiguous membership figures, the Jama'at can certainly continue the obscurant "tens of millions" line for at least another couple of generations.
Here's a friendly challenge for you—and please, no death prophecies in response as your prophet was quick to issue—there are too many nut jobs out there who will take it upon themselves to "fulfill" the prophecy. This is a friendly challenge from me.
The challenge is simply this, using our local country of Canada as a start:
Part 1: Tracking paying members over a 30 year span
Tell me what percentage of people who were on the tajneed in 1990 paying chanda aam have paid chanda aam in 2020.
We can and should of course, remove people who have died or moved out of the country in that period.
I know how modern the Jama'at's membership system has been since the late 1980s with the AS/400 system in the basement of Bait-ul-Islam, so this data has been captured for a long time.
Part 2: Active Converts who joined prior to 2000
Here's another aspect of the challenge for you:
In the same 1990 to 2020 data set, let us know how many converts who joined between 1990 and 1999 are still active members of the Jama'at today. I don't expect them to have paid chanda when they first converted, but 20+ years on, if they're not paying chanda members, I suspect their conversion didn't last.
Part 3: New Converts in Last 5 Years
Tell us how many new converts the Jama'at in Canada has received in each of the last five years:
Part 4: Converts who haven't married an Ahmadi Muslim
Tell us how many converts to Ahmadiyya Islam joined in Canada in 2018 who have not (yet) married a born-Ahmadi Muslim. You and I both know that a large proportion of men who call up the mosque to convert are doing it to appease the family of an Ahmadi Muslim woman whom they love and wish to marry. However, I'd like you to share the convert count of those who do it for the religion itself, without other mitigating factors.
In fact, a break down of this number from 2018 (those who are single converts vs. those who are recently married) will be quite revealing, I'm sure.
Part 5: Bonus Round — USA and UK Jama'ats
Repeat the same exercise in parts 1 through 4, but for the USA and UK Jama'ats, since they have computerized tajneed and chanda records too.

Critics are Not Your "Enemies"

On who is turning the tide, I can't speak for Africa, but for the West, I'm quite confident people are questioning and increasingly finding the apologetic answers to be unsatisfactory to retain their devotion to the faith. The very fact that the tagline for your Conviction Project podcast is, "Leaving you with no doubts about Islam" is to me, evidence of that very necessary damage control in progress.
You state:
I'm still waiting to see this "tide" of people that you have been talking about for the last 2-3 years. There is no evidence of this I have seen, and I regularly interact with a large number of membership in the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. I'm still waiting for this tide?
Why would the people you interact with be representative? People who find religion suspect are often going to do their own research. They're not going to "check in" with you.
Is it not true that in many parts of Canada, the USA, and the UK, that often as little as 20% of the tajneed comes out to a monthly meeting or an Ijtema? What if a large bulk of that 80% whom you don't normally see have gone from nominally believing Ahmadi Muslims to more consciously disengaging ones? How would you even know?
Regarding the landscape of people doubting, you state in your closer:
But let me be clear: You will not be able to harm the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at in any way whatsoever.
I don't have to try to do anything here. Your Jama'at does that all on their own, going from an alleged 81 million converts in 2001 (see very last page) to now a figure of 205k in 2019.
That said, I do think you're still coming from a mindset of "enemies of Islam" and pitched battles between claimants to divine office. That's not what this is.
I'm just a regular guy pointing out what I see, and commenting on the false bill of goods, as I see it, which I've been sold by accident of birth. I'm certainly not your enemy and I think by virtue of being a community like other communities, there are a lot of good things Jama'at Ahmadiyya does, including things which I admire.
I also believe that people empowered with good arguments about theology to reflect upon, will leave all on their own. It'll be peaceful, and increasingly, it is my hope, dissent will be normalized so that people are truly free to choose their religion without social boycott and the implicit and unconscious emotional manipulation of their wailing grandmothers seeded by fear tactics rooted in the Jama'at's theology, administration, and ethos.
I don't expect people to remember me in 200 years (or even in 20 years, for that matter). I'm not creating a new religious movement with my counter-apologetics.
It's rare that critics are remembered. Rather, their arguments live on, and every generation sees a new wave of critics take up the mantle.
Many arguments have been around for a long time, as have their counters, and the counters to the counters. What's unique today is that disbelievers could rarely reach a wider audience. Access to the flock has always been protected by gatekeepers. But today, this is changing.
We can also more easily cross reference contradictory scriptures, statements, and speeches—all of which require a mess of apologetics to try to reconcile. At the scale of what's possible, that's relatively new in history too.
Activists like me speak up because we're quite tired of being gaslit regarding our observations on why the religion we were been born into just doesn't hold up to scrutiny.
Most of us wouldn't even bother if we didn't find NRMs to be so emotionally abusive when people contemplate living authentically and actually voicing this to the believers around them.

May You Be Guided to the Right Path

As for:
I pray that Allah guides you to the right path. Ameen.
I appreciate the sentiment, but I want you to consider how such closing statements come across as passive-aggressive. If you want something more neutral and which has a chance of coming off as sincere, try something like, "I hope we both keep an open mind and converge on what is true."
Until then, I'll share my own "counter-rejoinder" as an example so that you can understand the connotation which accompanies the closer you and many of your colleagues often use. Here it is:
I hope that you're able to reason yourself out of your childhood indoctrination, and also the indoctrination you have received at Jamia Ahmadiyya. I know it's difficult and I don't believe most Jamia students have other educational qualifications to fallback on should they realize they've made a mistake in their choice of vocation.
Should you or other missionaries in the Jama'at ever require assistance upon leaving Islam to transition out of your jobs as murabbis, please keep in mind resources like The Clergy Project. Cheers.

AMA with Verasity Founder, R J Mark

On the 4th of February, we hosted an AMA with Verasity Founder R J Mark. Thank you to everyone who joined, we answered a lot of community questions in depth (39 in total!). If you missed it, below is the complete transcript. Exciting information in this, make sure to read it all. 👀
Hello Verasians. I am Bhav, the marketing manager at Verasity and I’m joined by R J Mark, the founder of Verasity. Thank you for joining us for this AMA!
Mark: Hello everyone.
We will be answering all of the pertinent questions that the community have sent in throughout the week. Once these questions have been answered, I will open up the chat so you can ask further (non-repetitive please) questions, the chat will then close once more for Mark to answer. The transcript of this AMA will then be posted on our Medium.
Let’s get straight into it!
Q1) There will be no deadline on the swap so there is no rush and no fear of losing your tokens. They can be swapped at any time. Is that right?
Absolutely right. There is no deadline on the swap For more details read:
VRA Token & PoV update
Q2) Regarding the ERC777 Token Swap, you don’t need to withdraw to VeraWallet on the day of swap? Can I do it later?
Correct, take your time, there is no rush. You can do it at any time. There is no deadline or end date for the swap. We are making this as seamless and easy as possible for everyone.
Seamless and easy. That’s the way forward ✅Q3) Will we see more movements from the Foundation wallet. What is this about? The Swap?
That is correct. In anticipation of the swap company wallets’ tokens are being swapped via VeraWallet. See the article about this:
VRA Token & PoV update
New Foundation wallets will be created to replace the old ones.
Q4) Any plans to keep staking beyond the 31/12/2021 deadline?
We have not made a decision yet but liquidity mining is very much in play and could replace staking after Dec 2021. We will announce mid-year.
Q5) All the tournaments are free to join. How does that help the company to generate revenue? Is there a place or example where users/players are actually using the VRA token to get a product/service?
_Great question!_The tournaments are free to join since we are focusing on adoption and scaling the number of users we have globally. Bringing as many people to the platform is our priority right now. As we expand and offer user-generated prize pools we will take a commission on the total jackpots as a revenue stream. In addition, other revenue flows will become available to us as we build our user base and launch our video player this Q1.
We will monetize our esports content through our video player within Esports Fight Club by serving ads from our ad partners:
Advertiser Partnership Update
Esports Fight Club will require players to use VRA to purchase subscriptions via several payment systems: VeraWallet, PayPal and Credit Cards (although some tournaments are free for promotional purposes). Winners receive VRA for winning tournaments. Soon players will also be rewarded VRA for watching ads. Verasity profits from the purchase of game credits, subscriptions, tournament prize pools and ads. This is an entire ecosystem all within Verasity.
See our revenue forecast here:
Tokenomics , Forecast, News Update
Adoption and scale are key to the success of Esports Fight Club. We’ve made a lot of progress on the platform and are confident we will continue to see further growth in terms of users and a ton more exposure to the platform, and our token $VRA.Talking about adoption and scale… the next question will answer that!~Q6) What is the current Marketing Strategy? How do we differ from other tournament websites?
After creating mass-scale events around the world, we are focusing on adoption and community this year. Spending $10,000 on a big one-time prize pool to attract 1000 teams sounds good in theory. But, after careful planning, forecasting and testing, the results show that the best way is to spread the tournaments out so we reach a larger number of audiences. This consistency and large reach will attract much more than just 1000 teams over a period of time. The best place to do this is by sponsoring streamers and influencers, who each have thousands or even hundreds of thousands of fans.
For the past week, for example, we’ve been running a Valorant Community Tournament with Esports Fight Club’s first partnered streamer, Mika Daime. The turnout has been massive! Qualifier 1 was filled up with the max slots so quickly, that we had to create a Qualifier 2 just to fit all the teams in.
  1. Most streamers we aim to partner with can easily bring in 64 or 256 teams to a community tournament hosted by Esports Fight Club, for a fraction of the price
  2. With the same budget as a big tournament, of the $10,000 we would have spent on a single tournament, we can obtain approximately 540% more users by repurposing that budget for the influencer and streamer tournaments.
For a full list of upcoming features such as the Marketplace and VoD section read our full Marketing and Adoption post:
Marketing, Adoption, Tournaments 2021 (Updated)
It’s key for people to understand what we aim to do with the tournaments in terms of marketing. We read a lot of comments about the “low prize pool” when we announced the Mika Daime tournament, hopefully the answer Mark provided sheds light on that!Everything we do at Verasity is calculated. 😊Do check this out if you wanted a full read on our Marketing and Adoption post for 2021. 👍🏼If you think you’re good at some of the games we have available on Esports Fight Club, join in! The partnered streamers we have will be hosting a lot of community tournaments, such as Mika Daime!Q7) How often shall the revenue estimates (status update) be updated and is there any new estimation?
We will update the community every six months on revenue forecasts. There are no updates from our last announcement which can be found here
Tokenomics , Forecast, News Update
Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter with notifications turned on, so you can get all the updates as they come through!https://twitter.com/verasitytech
Q8) Have you changed your business model? Because at the beginning it was mainly about publishers.
Our fundamental model has not changed: Video publishers attract audiences to watch video content and ads. Users are rewarded for it, thereby increasing engagement and monetization.
This model has not changed. What has changed is the type of video publisher we are pursuing. Prior to COVID-19, we pursued traditional publishers. With COVID-19, we saw the opportunity to pursue gaming publishers and more specifically esports publishers. More importantly, we created our own tournament platform: esportsfightclub.com. This allows us to control our own environment, launch our own proprietary video player, own our video content, run ads on our player, and charge subscription fees as well as take tournament fees.
But actually publishers and content are publishers and content whether it’s gaming or news.
It’s great to see how Esports Fight Club will have it’s own video content up on the website so that users will be able to watch the content to earn $VRA by using our own video technology, then use the $VRA to join tournaments, or buy hardware from trusted partners 👀Exciting stuff!Q9) Where can I find info about the Founders token unlock schedule?
Tokenomics and Founders token unlock schedule can be found here:
Tokenomics , Forecast, News Update
Q10) Does VeraWallet speed handling withdraws scale up painlessly when user amounts boom? And shall there be enhancements to user experience if we for example have tens or hundreds of small reward withdraws daily?
We are adding automated withdrawals for small amounts to the roadmap but first have to complete the swap and add the security protocols. We won’t risk our users’ investments.
We simply don't want to risk our secure environment.
Q11) Are there any plans for compounding rewards for the VeraWallet staking?
No, absolutely not. The simple interest we are paying now is already high.
Q12) Bit confused about the VeraWallet staking rate after March. Can you clarify?
The staking reward rate is 0.1% per day (36.5% per annum) until 31 March 2021 when it becomes 0.07% daily (25.55% pa) until 31 December 2021.
Q13) When can I instant stake with BTC?
Good news, BTC is already available in VeraWallet for Instant Stake together with ETH, BNB and USDT.
Try Instant Buy and Stake out for yourself here:
VeraWallet - Official VRA Wallet
Instant Buy and Stake has been a really popular update to VeraWallet. Great to see the community loving it. 👍🏼Q14) With the recent developments on Cardano, and the ease in which ERC-20 tokens can migrate to this superior to Ehereum platform, are you considering following suit of great projects like Celsius to move VRA over to Cardano? I know we are still a bit hurt with Binance VRAB. I understand it is not an easy decision. Just interested in what you think about the future on Ethereum.
We gave this a lot of thought and investigation and as the community knows we have experience with token migrations :)
Please see our latest update on the VRA token swap to ERC777 and Proof of View:
VRA Token & PoV update
As to Cardano — the liquidity is really small compared to ETH alts. For example on Kucoin it’s volume is less than $2m per day. Even on OKEX it’s only $3m. 50% of Celsius’ volume is on Uniswap which is the majority of the liquidity and is not on any Tier 1 exchanges. Aside from the lack of features that we need for PoV, after our last experience, we are very reluctant to join with mainnets that are generally illiquid. Celsius’s solution is to provide the liquidity themselves through Uniswap which is limiting in our view. We believe sticking with Ethereum is the right way to go and the market seems to agree with this as well.
Q15) The new VOD platform, when is it going to be finished and in use?
We are working on it now and expect it to meet the roadmap target of Q1: see verasity.io for the roadmap.
Can’t wait for it to be released! 🚀> Yes, this is a huge milestone for us and opens us up to so many possibilities.Q16) Is liquidity mining still in play? Will this replace the staking rewards after December 2021?
Good question. Yes, liquidity mining is very much in play and could replace staking after Dec 2021. We have not made that decision yet but will announce as soon as we do.
Q17) Are there new partners/publishers in the trend of gaming for the ad stack?
Yes, FB, Google and others. Please see:
Advertiser Partnership Update
In total 17, many specializing in gaming.
I don’t think today there are many ad networks that are not into gaming. It's such a huge audience sitting at home during Covid.
Q18) Micro tournaments: could you arrange tournaments yourself, like a national tournament for example?
The Esports Fight Club platform is fully self-managed, so yes, you could set up large tournaments and be the admin and sponsor. We would definitely like to see this happen by our community members. This quarter, our admins and developers are focused on A/B testing different tournaments with multiple communities to see if we are missing any critical features demanded by gamers. An article will be coming next week about micro and partnered tournaments. We will explain how these increase platform adoption which benefits both influencers and Esports Fight Club.
If anyone does host some tournaments, message me! I’d be happy to join a few… dust off my skills. I heard Rob (Our Finance Director) was a bit of Counterstrike wizard in his day… 😂Q19) Why are the tokens bought via the instant buy taken from a pool which dilutes the total supply? This is like raising new capital for $VRA at every buy instead of us token holders getting a price increase.
These are not purchased from a pool. If you mean that Foundation tokens have been transferred to VeraWallet, see the article:
Tokenomics , Forecast, News Update
In the Total VRA Supply, line 9, this VRA is already taken into account as part of both total supply and circulating supply. It does not increase either. I think this is really clear.
Q20) Asking about the “Instant buy and stake feature”. If someone buys $VRA using this system, there is no transaction on the blockchain. You say you buy directly on exchanges but no proof.
Buy backs of VRA do not happen instantly and we don’t announce buy backs in advance to avoid speculation. We don’t share our VeraWallet addresses as we have stated before. We are not going to provide speculators with tools to make a margin on each purchase.
Q21) Do we stay on the Ethereum network?
Yes, see the article:
VRA Token & PoV update
We are swapping our current ERC20 tokens to ERC777 which is essentially an upgrade to a more modern and fuller feature set Ethereum token.
For anyone just joining the chat, make sure you read the article above! Tons of important and exciting information.Q22) From the Foundation wallet tokens have been unlocked in the last 50 days and added to the circulating supply. How is our token deflationary?
If you mean that Foundation tokens have been transferred to VeraWallet, see the article:
Tokenomics , Forecast, News Update
Foundation tokens are not locked and the article clearly states they are unlocked. In the Total VRA Supply, line 9, this VRA is already taken into account as part of both total supply and circulating supply. It does not increase either. We specifically provide for ALL Foundation tokens, allocated and unallocated, as part of the current circulating supply so this is NOT adding to the circulating supply.
Q23) Asking about adoption figures. You claim to have had 8M people looking at your gaming videos (mostly fakes views as the counter earned millions in hours).
The adoption figures were not fake or exaggerated, it is important to understand that this number is a combination of different metrics, all of which ensure one thing: People viewed our live tournament page. This number includes:
Although it was difficult to collate all the viewer statistics we believe them to be accurate and fair.
To see the full statistics of Ultimate Warrior Showdown 1, read here:
Ultimate Warrior Showdown Tournament Round-Up and Adoption
Hope that clears up some FUD! 👍🏼Q24) Asking about partnerships. You say you have partnerships with
Stripe, Tencent Games, PayPal. The truth is any website can integrate these payment/connexion modules without partnership. You just need to read their website and implement it on your website.
Of course, you can add Stripe and PayPal to any website, but try adding them to a crypto-based website and see how far you get. There are no crypto products websites or related services (other than specific financial services) that are supported by Stripe and PayPal because they are not allowed. To obtain these payment services, you need to have special permission and follow a rigid protocol. And Stripe expressed interest in working with Esports Fight Club to reach out to video publishers with EFC to give us access to video publishers worldwide.
As to TencentGames, you need to get their specific permission for certain tournament events and follow their rules. We would be unable to use their logo and name in our marketing material without this. It’s not simply signing up for them. So yes we consider this a partnership because they plan on additional events with us which they now support.
Working with major brands including PUBGM, Tencent, Athena Gaming and Warmania gave us the clout to include major esport teams in our tournaments who will participate in future tournaments as well: FaZe Clan, Orange, T1, Elementrix, Nova, Onic and others. And now because of the history, Blizzard is prepared to provide licenses for all their major games.
We are also in discussion with peripheral manufacturers to support our marketplace launch later this year. As soon as agreements are reached, we will jointly announce sponsored product peripherals that will be rewarded in our tournaments.
Q25) Some things on your roadmap get pushed forward. Why did do you do this?
Our development team has been together doing projects for over ten years. This is normal in large scale development projects. For example, we decided after the large Esports Fight Club tournaments we put on that we needed to finalize and launch the Video sharing platform prior to some other features on the roadmap because without it we would not be able to take advantage of many opportunities including monetization opportunities of the exclusive VOD content that only we could re-publish and add ads to. This pushed certain product features into Q2. Another example is PoV. Initially we thought we would go with proprietary blockchain because there was no other solution that would allow us to support PoV. That changed with the release by Ethereum of ERC777. As a result PoV timeline targets changed so that it corresponds to the release of ERC777 as well as the ability to use it for the Video sharing platform. So in effect, the video-sharing platform came in _much earlier than expected_which pushed out other features/products to accommodate this change. Business decisions and external events impact on the roadmap and it would do Verasity and the community an injustice if we just blindly followed a roadmap that becomes slightly outdated every quarter and greatly outdated every year. It is this flexibility that allows Verasity to take advantage of new information and technologies in real-time. And to push out new products earlier in the roadmap such as the video-sharing platform.
Q26) Proof-of-View™️ so nice!
When will it be a Patented POV?
The average time for a patent to be granted is 3 years. We’ve just started our third year as a pending application so we hope it will be in 2021, however our patent lawyers have told us to expect further delays due to covid. Fortunately this won’t stop the release of Proof of View which can go ahead with ‘patent pending’ protection.
Update: The patent was granted a few minutes after the AMA ended!
@verasitytech
Q27) Will there be an app for download on your phone soon? For Staking. Feeling a little insecure have it online on your website
Actually, our mweb and web applications are much more secure than a mobile app. Mobile apps are much easier to hack. Although we have not been hacked, some users have been hacked via their mobile phones but because we have a manual delay, we were able to stop the loss of tokens. The good news is that now with the swap to ERC777 we can disable any wallets that have stolen VRA and return the VRA to the original user. We do have mobile apps on the roadmap but won’t likely support staking because of the security issue and it is not a priority for us.
Q28) Not try to fud here, but would like to get an answer in AMA to suppress all fud in the future 😁
Financial status company. There have been coins sold for listing on an exchange (still to come?). Was this something that was not planned (like extra opportunity to get listed) or are funds becoming empty?
Current resources held by Verasity fund the project roadmap for the next 12 months. We forecast reaching profitability in 2021 which will finance the continuing runway thereafter. As you point out not all listing opportunities were included in the forecast and we stated that: “In the future, additional listings and expenses may require sales of VRA from the Foundation Reserve”. See the funding update here:
Tokenomics , Forecast, News Update
Q29) The VoD update is a little bit unclear for me. Maybe you can tell some more about it. To the looks of it, it is a mix between YouTube and twitch but with PoV to earn $VRA.
PoV on VODs is a key feature for us and for our large ad-stack network. While we are growing our partnerships with community tournaments and adding more games and influencers on EsportsFightClub: we want our reruns to be monetized, available at all times on our proprietary platform and browsing page. Think of it the way Twitch highlights previous streamer’s lives automatically but on a larger and customizable library for viewers to earn VRA and for Verasity to monetize via its ad stack.
And we own several terabytes of gaming and esports video content which will launch with the new video platform in Q1. This is actually massive, because on launch we will have a ton of video content to monetize!
Q30) You seem to have many products but I don’t understand how they work together?
Q31) What games does Esports Fight Club support now?
PUBG mobile, Free Fire, Counter-Strike GO, Valorant, PUBG and Ludo is about to be launched.
🚀🚀🚀 Great game selection, so far.Q32) Any near-future plans to expand your marketing?
At Verasity, we have a large marketing team that devotes itself behind the scenes to increase our awareness in the cryptocurrency community and reach as many people as possible.
Although we have community groups in more than 10 languages, our local group managers translate all the news, updates into their own languages and publish them in local forums and groups in real time. Thus, we significantly increase our chances of reaching communities that do not speak English. Verasity Spanish, Verasity Korea & Verasity India are already large groups and growing.
We will continue to use media sites, influencers, and all other advertising sources to spread our news in the future as in the past. Gamification marketing opportunities are very important to us as can be seen in LunarCrush.
In return for these efforts, we have gained a great community support that grew slowly but surely. Our marketing efforts will continue to scale. Our goal in this regard is to continue without stopping until every individual in the cryptocurrency community speaks about Verasity.
Our social media metrics have seen a consistent and phenomenal increase over the past year due to our marketing efforts, read here to find out more in detail:
Verasity Social and Adoption Metrics
For us the most important metrics to see how we are doing in socials is LunarCrush:
VRA - VERAsity Insights | LunarCRUSH
LunarCrush Altrank is the best stats measure of Alts social marketing success out of 2100 popular Alts. We tested many marketing ploys to rank highly. When something works, it’s clear in LunarCrush. Competitions like AltWars simply work. This is the meaning of crypto exposure when the Altrank increases in LunarCrush which measures all social volume, % change per 24 hours, and social score. Even with our volume which only ranks 550 out of 2100 Alts, our Social Volume pushes us in front of much bigger tokens such as OMG, DOT, LINK, CHSB and others. Clearly our marketing is working.
The community support has been phenomenal. It’s been great to see how supportive the Verasians have been. We wouldn’t be anywhere without you guys! So thank you from the team.Especially during the AltWars contest recently… we owned! 👍🏼 Power of the Verasians. 🤝Q33)Have you heard about gaming projects Exeedme and Crowns and how can you compare them to Verasity?
We did! Exeedme is an exciting project revolving around gamers personal skill and players betting against themselves (user-centric) that is just at its very inception. They are not competitors as our model (Community, content and tournament centered) has broader purpose and we dont and wont support betting because it will be rejected by many of our partners.
Crowns Token, from Seascape, is a DeFi economy blockchain made for developers building their own online games but who cannot/don’t want to focus on the technical transactional side. Although they are very promising for simple browser and other types of games, they are just not targeting the Esports market and offer, at best, support for upcoming indie-browser games studios.
We would not be able to partner with Exeedme because of betting restrictions but Crowns could be interesting if the games developed are popular with our viewers.
Q34) Are there any plans in the near future (next several months) to list on an exchange that allows full KYC trading for US citizens (e.g. Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Binance US, etc.)?
This is hard for us. The regulatory environment in the US is not friendly. Since we are not regulated in the US, the risk of listing on a US exchange and the SEC bringing a claim is quite high. At this time we are avoiding this. Lets see what happens with the new SEC Chair who is quite familiar with blockchain. Should he articulate straight forward rules that can be followed and which will not be changed every couple of months, we will consider it then.
Q35) What is:
1. Business structure
2. Marketing plan for next year
3. Customer acquisition costs
4. Execution plan on tech side to deliver
Business structure of Verasity:
Development team structure is flat with these functions:
Blockchain developers, Backend developers, highload & security developers, Full stack Developers, web/mobile frontend developers, mobile only devs, Testing & QA, Finance.
For more about the Verasity business model and forecast see:
Tokenomics , Forecast, News Update
Marketing plan for next year can be found here:
Marketing, Adoption, Tournaments 2021 (Updated)
Customer acquisition costs
We will provide CAC when we are profitable.
Execution plan
See the roadmap on verasity.io
And finally. the last question on the list…🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁Q36) Do you have an update on exchanges? The one that was hinted end of last year and more to come?
Very important issue for us and the community. We fully appreciate the necessity for additional volume and liquidity. After the last exchange hack and issues with OKEX, we were thrown off balance but had expected to list on a new exchange by now. Mistakenly we announced prematurely and then ran into the necessity of completing the VRA token swap before we list on a new exchange. Obviously, we want to now avoid having to swap tokens on a new exchange. So right after the majority of the current exchanges we are listed on complete the swap (this month), we will continue with our listing plans. We are well on the way with 2 exchanges but don’t think it’s prudent to provide more information until they announce the listing themselves. The expectation is still for at least one exchange in Q1. Please bear with us on this. We will get there.
Been a great AMA so far. Cleared up a lot of questions and hopefully made you all as excited for the future as we are. Tons of great new updates to Esports Fight Club coming this year and a prosperous year for Verasity is definitely ahead.Thank you Mark! Will be now opening the chat for the Verasians to ask some additional questions. Will be closing the chat shortly after and we can get some more answers out. The gates are opening! 😁
Additional questions
Q37) When the Verasity Game Jackpot price will be held again? We are waiting for so long.
New jackpots are coming onto the platform but for upcoming games like Ludo which will be announced later this month.
Q38) Is it possible to create something like a create your own tournament where I can play a 1vs1(or 2v2 5vs5) against another player(s) in any game anytime (like in 30 minutes) and where I can set for example a winning price of 100k VRA. and both players have to send 50k before the game to a smart contract and afterward it automatically gets sent to the winner?
Esports Fight Club allows users to create their own tournaments choosing from the available games list. We are constantly working on expanding the list of available games and are open for suggestions. The players deposit VRA to the Esports Fight Club account and use these funds to send money to the prize pool. It's quite simple to set up and you can do it for any amount and any number of players and as admin, you have complete control of the size of the pot, how it is shared in % for winners when to start, etc. Its a fully self managed platform that works now. Just go in and set it up today!
Q39) Hi Mark, regarding the plans for in-game advertising and in-game rewards this year, could you describe your vision on this? Is Verasity currently discussing this topic with certain game companies, and how exactly would it work in practice once achieved? Any details you can share with us would be highly appreciated!
The way we view in-game ads is our ability to provide our logo or some other image that would be part of the game interface, such as the floor or walls. This already exists and is popular. We are in discussions now with game developers to add Verasity/VRA. This is a high powered marketing tool that will get our name into many gamers’ faces. These are native images in effect. For advertisers that want to use native images inside our broadcasts or VOD, they get stitched into the ad server in parallel to the stream and we get paid for the ad inventory. In-game rewards are still in development but the vision is for users to be able to click on an object in the game and get rewarded for doing so, not dissimilar to clicking on an add and getting a higher CPM.

How To Set Up Your MetaMask for VRA

Our recent swap has been a success so far. At the time of writing this, the majority of the exchanges have resumed deposits, withdrawals, and trading. To see the current status, click here.
VeraWallet has an ongoing swap with no deadline. MetaMask and Trust Wallet have completed their swaps and are now available for VRA tokens.
Please note:
MetaMask is not endorsed by Verasity. There are other ERC wallets out there that you may prefer to use — please make sure you do your own due diligence and research. MetaMask is an application that allows users to access a secure Ethereum compatible wallet directly from their browser.

How to set up your MetaMask wallet

1) Download the plugin
In order to install MetaMask visit the Chrome web store:
MetaMask
Click “ADD TO CHROME” and agree to add the MetaMask extension into your Chrome browser.
2) Activate the plugin
When the Chrome extension is installed you’ll see the MetaMask (fox) icon in the top right corner of your Chrome window. Click the MetaMask Icon and a new page will open which will prompt you to “Get Started”.
3) Create your account and Password
Now you need to create a password for your MetaMask account — this is what you’ll use on a daily basis to log into it.
If you have a seed phrase already — you can import your existing wallet using a 12-word seed phrase. If you are new, then click “Create a Wallet”.
Now set yourself a password using a minimum of 8 characters.
4) Save your seed words
MetaMask will now provide you with a list of “seed words”. Seed words are also known as a Recovery Phrase. You’ll use this random list of words if you lose your password and need to recover your funds and wallet.
It is highly recommended that you write these words down and keep them in a safe place or save the seed words as a file and then password protect it.
Many people skip this process and end up losing access to their wallet entirely.
Ideally keep multiple copies of your seed words in different places. It’s not advisable to take pictures of your seed words or make digital copies of them.
You should not store them in your email, cloud storage, or your phone’s photo library as if you are hacked you could lose your wallet and funds. If you must keep them in email or cloud storage make sure they are encrypted with at least an 8 character complex password.
5) Congratulations! You’ve made your MetaMask wallet.
Once you’ve confirmed your seed words are saved securely your wallet is ready!
